Testimonials
To: Carol Woods: Heritage Railway Magazine
A new author with a small publisher and a limited advertising
budget, hoping to make a mark in the competitive world of
children's books faces a daunting task.
The challenge is even
harder when his books feature railways as the market has been
domninated for over fifty years by one author and his characters.
Therefore advertising space has to be carefully selected in order to
reach the most likely customer namely the railway enthusiast
wishing to introduce the next generation to the world's greatest
hobby.
Enter "Heritage Railway" magazine which caters not just for
the enthusiast but the railways and their shops which are the base
of the hobby. So, with advice from the magazine's advertising staff
on layout, my own children's character "Jack the Station Cat" and
his books started to appear in the "Express Goods" pages of
"Heritage Railway".
Some four years later Jack is still there. 2004
saw record sales of his books and toys plus the first UK heritage
railway Jack the Station Cat events. Jack and his author have no
hesitation in commending the advertising pages of "Heritage
Railway" to potential users.
They are the "purrfect" medium.
